First, most cracks in an aluminum frame, especially when they are in the tube rather than at a weld signifies fatigue. The second time I mixed thoroughly before applying and had the same result. JB Weld -- as with most A/B epoxies -- is not overrated. The stuff really works. I thought to use JBweld plastic epoxy for the repair, and then reinforce the joint by applying a I have repaired ABS and other plastics with epoxy many times with superb success. The key is to JB Weld works great , but so does regular epoxies. I would use 5 minute epoxy or JB Quick in your application.

The epoxy when hardened is very strong and ridgid. The only downfall is the set time (4 plus hours) and cure time (15 plus hours), which some may need depending on project and weather conditions.
